Scoliosis & Spinal Deformity
For over a decade, the neurological and spine specialists at Methodist Moody Brain and Spine Institute in Dallas and the surrounding areas have made the health and wellbeing of our patients a priority. By tailoring our medical solutions to the unique needs of each person we treat, we provide hope for them to get the care they need.
Treating Scoliosis
There are over 50 different known types of scoliosis. For our surgeons and medical staff, this means taking a unique approach to each case by understanding the treatments available and how they can serve an individual’s needs.
Methodist Moody Brain and Spine Institute offers minimally invasive spine correction surgeries that help you recover faster and enjoy having the use of your body once again. If there’s no need for surgery, our medical professionals offer other solutions that meet your needs.
Treating Adults with Scoliosis
As bodies grow older, their joints often begin to weaken and allow for conditions such as scoliosis. For adults over the age of 50, curvature of the spine becomes a much more common concern as the results of lifelong habits begins to take effect.
Minimally invasive spine correction surgery involves strengthening the spine with flexible metal rods anchored into the vertebrae and bringing the spine onto a straighter line. Because it is minimally invasive, incisions into the back are much smaller and require significantly less time to heal. These procedures also result in less scarring.
Revision Surgery
Sometimes surgeries performed years ago require correction. At Methodist Moody Brain and Spine Institute, we offer revision surgery to correct the problems caused by surgeries in the past.
Diagnosis & Planning
Our advanced equipment includes the EOS® system, which helps our imaging technicians to obtain a complete X-ray with just a third of the usual radiation dose of a normal X-ray. This means a more comprehensive plan for our surgeons and better results for our patients.
